About Me

Me? I'm currently attending Michigan State University to obtain a Bachelor of Arts degree in Telecommunication, Information Studies, and Media with an emphasis in Digital Media Art and Technology and a specialization in Film Studies.  I expect to graduate in 2009.

I'm very interested in using various media to tell stories or convey expressions in ways that are innovative and not like everything else one sees on TV.  I think with emerging technologies such as HDTV and increasing broadband speeds, there are tremendous possibilities that have not yet been harvested.

In my spare time, I'm a nerd.  I really like playing with photo and video editing software such as Photoshop and Final Cut Pro.  You'll find examples of such things in my portfolio.  I'm also very involved with the MSU Telecasters, specifically The ShoW, which is a student-produced sitcom that airs Wednesday nights on RHA TV Channel 12.  More information about what all I do in Telecasters can be seen in my résumé.

About This Website

This website was written for TC 240.  I wrote it by hand.  The backend is written in PHP, which simply assembles each page from seperate elements to produce the output the user expects.  The pages themselves were written in XHTML 1.1, and formatted with CSS.  I made sure to design everything with W3C's web standards in mind, to ensure this website will be rendered properly in any browser on any platform.  All graphics were made in Photoshop.

When designing this site, I made accessibility my first priority.  All the text on this site is real text, not images.  This way, those with impaired vision can use their browser's text-enlarging features, screen readers, or other utilities.  Also, this allows search engines to more easily read and index my site, increasing the chances that an employer could find me.

Another thing I wanted to point out is the responsiveness of the pages.  Many things change color when the user mouses over them.  I did this in an attempt to make the site feel more responsive to their actions, and more engaging.  Besides, a static page is never fun.

Please explore the site, and have fun!
